Tosha Gaines
Tosha Gaines is a photographer based in Birmingham, Alabama. She specializes in contemporary portraiture and events, emphasizing diversity and inclusion. She views the world through her own colorful and creative lens, capturing stories and identity through her images. As an autistic artist and disability advocate, she creates therapeutic photographic experiences and spaces for individuals with disabilities and the queer community. Tosha creates a photographic voice for her clients, balancing lighting and portrait techniques with positive accessibility, sensory, mobility, and communication experiences. She also has eighteen years as an occupational therapist.
Tosha is an ambassador for Stella Pro Lights, Chimera Lighting, Aftershoot, Rogue Photographic Design, and 17Hats and has collaborated with organizations, including The World Games, Lakeshore Foundation, Main Street AmericaParalyzed Veterans of America, and the Department of Veterans Affairs. She has been featured on SIGMA Blog, Rangefinder, and PPA Magazine. Tosha has also spoken at WPPI, The Photo Cookout, ImagingUSA, and Carolina Photo Expo. Her work is featured in the solo exhibition "Able and Proud," celebrating queer Alabamians with disabilities. Tosha continues to use her unique perspective to push the boundaries of photography and bring stories to life.
